Filmed by Texas-native Marcellus Hartman while serving in Vietnam, this footage captures daily life at Camp Evans. Included are soldiers and Vietnamese workers around the base, as well as soldiers boarding a helicopter. The Marcellus Hartman Collection consists of over 300 Super 8 films made by Hartman, a Texan, while serving in the military in Vietnam in the early 1970s. The films document everyday life on his base, capturing the comings and goings of soldiers and others who worked on the base, helicopters arriving and taking off, and images of the surrounding landscape from Hartman's visits to cities and other military locations in Vietnam.
