National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Hall of Famer, Lindsey Nelson narrates this review of the 1972 Sun Carnival. Events covered include the basketball tournament, Sun Queen Coronation and the Sun Parade. The parade's theme for the year, "A Tribute to Time", featured floats portraying iconic places and episodes of El Paso's history, from Conquistadores to Rosa's Cantina. The main focus, however, is the play-by-play highlights of the 38th Sun Bowl game in which the North Carolina Tarheels narrowly defeated the Texas Tech Red Raiders.
