An icon of Austin dining, the Night Hawk restaurant chain was founded in 1932 by former actor, Harry Akin. In the 1940s, Akin began raising his own cattle to cope with WWII shortages and successfully sold his frozen "chop't" steaks during the postwar era. This film was likely used to create an advertisement for the Night Hawk line of frozen steaks. The camera focuses in on how steaks and hamburgers are prepared in the restaurant's kitchen - a 'behind-the-scenes' look at the Night Hawk.
