  •  Appears to be using Brownie 8mm Movie Camera II (spring-drive winder is characteristic, also see "gunsight" rangefinder mounted on top, not inside the case). 
  •  The "Tweetsie" is actually the ET+WNC, East Tennessee and Western North Carolina Railroad, which operates today largely as a narrow-gauge tourist line. 
  •  The crew were intentionally "making smoke" for the cameras. That much black smoke from a road engine would earn the fireman a reprimand for bad firing practice.
