This 1950s home movie captures the Bench family at Fort Sill Military Reservation in Oklahoma. Father Gerald Bench, a captain in the US Army at the time, oversees artillery demonstrations. Soldiers test fire a variety of artillery, including 155-mm and 4.5-inch field guns. Mother Louise and daughters Marcia and Geraldine, meanwhile, enjoy horse shows and pose for the camera outside the family’s post housing. Also included is footage of a family trip to Badlands National Park in South Dakota.
