This 1949 home movie captures a rare snowfall in Beaumont. According to the National Weather Service, the Beaumont-Port Arthur area recorded 2.5 inches of snow on January 30, 1949. In the footage, the entire family heads outdoors to enjoy the wintry treat. The children throw snowballs at one another while the family dogs attempt to make sense of the cold, wet ground.
