In this unedited interview for Austin’s KVUE-TV, Roy Faires sits down with director Lord Richard Attenborough to talk about his latest film, Cry Freedom (1987). In the interview, Attenborough describes his interest in making a film about this subject and other figures that inspire him. He also discusses his reasoning for casting two American actors in the lead roles. Faires worked as a special project director and entertainment critic/reporter at KVUE-TV, Austin’s ABC affiliate, from 1976-1989.
