In this unedited footage, shot in Austin, Dallas-based producer Jim Ruddy interviews actor Barry Corbin about his recent discovery that he fathered a daughter in 1965. Shannon Ross, his daughter, was adopted as an infant and contacted her birth parents to discover if her son’s scoliosis was genetic. Corbin was not aware that he had fathered a daughter, but welcomed her into his life, and both are very excited about their reconnection. Ruddy also interviews Corbin’s parents and his wife Sue Berger.
Barry Corbin was a Shakespearean actor and skilled equestrian (specifically in cutting) before breaking out into film and TV with roles in WarGamesLonesome Dove, and Dallas (Sheriff Fenton Washburn).  His career has persisted into the 2000s, finding roles in One Tree Hill and No Country for Old Men.  When not acting, one can find Corbin tending livestock on his ranch near Forth Worth.  Corbin has been inducted into the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame (2009) and Texas Film Hall of Fame (2012).
