This newsreel was produced by Universal-International as a special release immediately following President John F. Kennedy’s assassination. The newreel gives a brief history of Kennedy’s presidency and popularity, both domestically and abroad, then documents the President and First Lady’s arrival in Dallas-Fort Worth, the motorcade’s journey through Dealey Plaza, the fatal shots, the breaking news of President Kennedy’s death, and the reactions of citizens and statesmen throughout the world. The newsreel closes with Lyndon B. Johnson being sworn in on Air Force One with Jacqueline Kennedy by his side and his statement as he arrives in the U.S. Capital as President.
