This home movie captures scenes of the Cruz family spending the day at Western Playland amusement park in El Paso's Ascarte Park as part of the Head Start Program. The young children in the program enjoy riding the carousel, park train, teacups, and other kiddie rides. The Head Start Program is a program of the United States Department of Health and Human Services that provides comprehensive early childhood education, health, nutrition, and parent involvement services to low-income children and their families.
