This home movie from 1979 captures several dance performances at the 39th Annual Czech Fest in Crosby. Established in 1941 by the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the annual festival features folk music and dancing as well as traditional Czech foods. Czech immigrants began moving to Texas as early as 1823, predominantly settling in Central Texas towns such as Fayetteville, Temple, and La Grange. Czech celebrations and events like the one in this footage continue to be held across the state.
