In this commercial for Friedrich, actor and Friedrich spokesperson Peter Graves talks about the many ways the company saves its customers money, from energy efficiency to factory rebates. This particular promotion went on from March to May 1976, with the majority of ads like this one broadcast in April 1976. Friedrich is an air conditioning manufacturer based in San Antonio. Founded in 1883 by Ed Friedrich, the company originally produced refrigeration systems before moving into air conditioning in 1952. Bert Rodriguez’s Dallas-based production company, Visual Presentations, produced this commercial. Rodriguez was also the producer of the Clio-Award-winning Old Home Bread commercials that introduced the world to C. W. McCall.
