Rudy Schenken (1954-1996)
What great memories. What a great company.
I AM STILL AWED BY THE MECHANICAL DESIGN INCORPORATED IN THE R-390 AND THE PTO USED IN COLLINS RADIOS. THE DETAIL IS INCREDIBLE TO HAVE ACHIEVED AN OSCILLATOR COIL SO STABLE AND LINEAR WA5OMB
I Worked for Collins Radio in Richardson Texas from April 6,1966 to 2004 as Tech and Lead Tech. We had the Best Test Equipment and Schematics Money could buy. Loved working as Lead Tech because it was helping people fix circuit boards that were difficult. Now Retired back in Tennessee and Very Happy Eating my Garden Veg and Robbing my Honey Bee Hives. Run My own Ham Radio Station WB5KSM doing public service work and pleasure. 73
My dad worked there for 33 years. I followed in his footsteps and worked there as an intern while in college and then full-time after graduating. I was proud to work there - met some great people.
Cathy Johnson Perdue
My Mother Jeanette Johnson worked at Collins 50"2 and early 60"2. Stepfather Brownie Seals worked there, I believe in R&D and also on early space flights.
Valerie Perkins Auchenbach
My dad worked for collins,,,1952-1983. We moved from Cedar Rapids to Richardson Texas in 1959. Dad co-held many patents with Collins. Am proud of his work

I grew up at Collins Radio, from age 19 to 32. My husband worked there, and most of those at our wedding also worked there. I will always be grateful to Collins for teaching us superior work ethics during those years. I remember how a roar of voices resounded from the workers in the factory when the Eagle landed on the moon.
I worked at Collins Radio in Anamosa, Iowa in 59 and 69 and hired full time 7-15-63. Great place to work. Met Art Collins at his home and got to sit at his radio station because I was a ham radio operator as well.
I started at Collins Radio in Richardson in 1966. I worked in factory as an assembly operator. I left and came back in 1977 as I knew that was where I wanted to work. I had many positions during my years until retirement in 1993 as a Planner. It was a great place to work!
Started working for Rockwell International in Richardson i 1981, rehired in 1983 and just recently passed 30 years now with Rockwell Collins. We are still innovating and still going strong in HF radio.
Started with Collins in 1965 at the Big D building at Central and Forest Lane as a test tech. Stayed with the company through 2 name changes until 2002. Still have fond memories of the people I met, worked with, and was mentored by during those early years including Richard Grant above.
I started with Collins Newport Beach in 1967 and helped get the large microelctronics building on line which I still drive by---- retired in 1997 in Palmdale-----Collins was a great company----I still can see Arthur sitting in an engineer"s office cubicle talking designs----hi Jim Carmichael
I"ll always have a warm spot in my heart for Collins and especially CISCO at that time. We had great people at Collins.

I sure enjoyed watching this old video. Recognized some of the equipment and people I knew during the early part of my career. That was my work world from 1966 to 2004.
Started in 1960 as a 180 test operator at Dragon St. in Dallas at $2.05/hour and retired as a QC Engineer in 1989 in Richardson. Still relive the memories of those years and still have breakfast once a week with two of the friends I made then, all of us now in our 80"s. Hi Jim Bartee.
This is awesome. It has brought back many fond memories of the past. It also makes me proud that I played a small part in this part of history. (1956 - 1988)
I was with Collins from 1967 until 2002. What a great place to work and some of the best people you could ever want to meet. Thanks Art.
Thanks to RCRA and Rudy for sharing this. Always good to see and be reminded what was accomplished. I know I was honored, and proud, to be a small part of this history.
This is priceless. Really brings the memories of some exciting times back to mind. Rudy Schenken was a valuable mentor to me. I would love to hear from him or any Collins/Rockwell guys who worked during 1960-1989 era.
