Teach Texas - Early Texas

These lesson plans explore the scope of Texas history from the sixteenth to nineteenth century using secondary educational films. This includes the geographic setting of Texas, Native Texans, contact between indigenous and European peoples in the sixteenth century, Spanish colonialism, Mexican nationalism, Texas Revolution and Republic, Texas’ annexation, Texas in the Civil War and Reconstruction, and the growth of the Cotton, Cattle, and the Railroad Industries in the late nineteenth century.
