The Society of Folk Dance Historians is a non-profit educational organization with a mission to collect and preserve information related to international folk dance. The organization, which started in 1987 and is based in Austin, Texas, collects a variety of materials including documents, sound and moving image recordings, costumes, and other artifacts related to folk dancing from cultures around the world.
