This August, the Texas Archive of the Moving Image partners with the Plaza Classic Film Festival to collect and screen El Paso films, and our Executive Director presents in Bogota, Columbia.

Texas Film Round-Up 
Friday - Saturday, August 9th - 11th, from noon to 7 pm
at the Plaza Theatre in El Paso

Drop off your Texas-related films and videos for FREE digitization and be part of the award-winning Texas Film Round-Up program, our partnership with the Texaas Film Commission.   Materials submitted will be in consideration for inclusion TexasArchive.org the premier portal for historic moving images of Texas. Since 2008, the Round-Up has provided new access to more than 12,000 films and videos and served hundreds of individuals and institutions.  The program is open to a variety of film types from Texas, including home movies, advertisements, local television, community films, and more.  Find more information about the program at TexasFilmRoundUp.org.

 
El Paso Discoveries, Vol II: Texas Film Round-Up
Friday, August 9th at 4 pm
at the Philanhropy Theatre in El Paso

El Paso and West Texas star in this unique program of vintage films gathered at the Texas Film Round-Up!  Featuring selections from the more than 1,700 films and videos contributed during the past three Round-Ups at the Plaza Classic Film Festival, this curated program includes footage of three U.S. Presidents, the second Sun Carnival, and the Texas College of Mines in the 1940s, as well as several home movies documenting the area and its culture.  More information can be found at www.plazaclassic.com
