In this home movie from the 1960s, the Blount family enjoys various activities across the state. First, the children, Ralph and Jeb, partake in an egg hunt Easter morning in Longview. The family also observes a Shriners parade. Next, the Blounts travel to Austin, taking a dip in the pool at Barton Springs. Then, the two young boys attend summer camp at Camp La Junta in Hunt. Finally, the family visits the State Fair of Texas at Dallas’ Fair Park, walking the fair grounds and attending the Red River Showdown between the Texas Longhorns and the Oklahoma Sooners at the Cotton Bowl. The University of Texas Longhorn Band performs before the game begins and at halftime. The film also includes footage of the family having fun at home, zip-lining and playing on a Slip’N Slide.
