Produced by the Dallas-Fort Worth Regional Airport Board, this industrial film from 1972 highlights the need for and design of the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, or DFW, which was under construction at the time. The film’s host first talks about the growth potential of the new airport, discussing how it will bolster the local economy through revenue and employment opportunities. Next, he outlines the airport’s modular design, emphasizing how it optimizes traveler accessibility and convenience. Finally, the host takes the viewer on a trip to the future, demonstrating how visitors will navigate the facility as well as use features such as Airtrans. DFW opened for commercial service on January 13, 1974. It is the busiest airport in Texas and the largest hub for American Airlines, which is headquartered in Fort Worth.
