This news footage captures scenes of young men registering for the draft at a Midland-Odessa area high school after President Jimmy Carter signed Proclamation 4771 in July of 1980, reinstating the Selective Service registration requirement for all 18–26 year old male citizens born on or after January 1, 1960. A news reporter asks the young men what they think of the draft and how they feel about women not being required to register. Please note that some censored profanity is included in this video.
