About the video

August 30, 1964 - Following the clinching the Democratic nomination at the 1964 National Convention in Atlantic City, President and Lady Bird Johnson invited Senator and Mrs. Humphrey to stay at the ranch. The visit included a tour of the President’s reconstructed birthplace, guided by Lyndon and Lady Bird. Present at the tour are the Humphrey’s sixteen year old son, Douglas, and Katherine Graham, President of the Washington Post Company.
