About the video

Born in 1937 in Jacksonville, Rayford Price served as the 68th Speaker of the Texas House of Representative from 1972-1973. During his tenure, Price emphasized the reform of House rules in order to reduce entrenched power and seniority. Footage from this home movie brings a behind-the-scenes look at the early 1970s House of Representatives from the (sometimes sideways) vantage point of the legislators.
