Hurricanes

Being on the Gulf Coast = some big storms, especially in September.
Over more than the last century, several hurricanes have made a significant impact on Texas' Gulf Coast: The Galveston Hurricane of 1900(9/8/1900), Beulah(1967), Carla(9/11/1961), Allen(8/10/1980), Alicia(8/18/1983), Rita(9/23/2005), and Ike(9/13/2008).
