This theatrical trailer is for the 1963 feature film Hud, directed by Martin Ritt and starring Paul Newman, Melvyn Douglas, and Patricia Neal. Hud was filmed on location in the Texas Panhandle town of Claude. Set on a the Bannon family cattle ranch, the plot focuses on the relationship between the ruthless titular character, Hud, and his highly principled father, Homer, as foot-and-mouth disease breaks out on their ranch, putting the family’s livelihood at risk. Upon the film’s release, Time magazine said that it “brings the Texas panhandle to dusty, sweaty life."
